“THE IDEA”

When I started planning Kieran’s first birthday party in my head last year I had a few theme’s in mind, but finally I drew some inspiration from some wool, or pom-poms. I had this pom-pom idea in my head went to the fabric shop and bought some wool, royal blue wool – because its my favourite colour and made these (without the eyes)… and thought ‘oh my word’ wouldn’t they look great as COOKIE monsters? and that was that! I added some eyes to my pom-poms and Boom my very own little cookie monster – guy. I loved him!

“A LIFE WITHOUT CAKE IS NO LIFE AT ALL!”

I looked around for many ideas for a cake, but essentially I wanted something simple but at the same time wow! As usual I looked no further then Tessa! Yip Tessa’s Bakery has the most amazing, delicious, moist. devine, perfect cakes. As a cake connoisseur myself I TOTALLLY approve! It was quick and easy, I told them my idea, they told me what they can do and hey presto – easy peesy, I was BEYOND happy! Just look at it!!!! PERFECTION!

SOME BUMBS ALONG THE WAY…

However, we had a cake EMERGENCY, we were supposed to put the cake in the fridge but did not, oops, just before the party started I asked my friend to take it out of the box and put it on the cake table, he took it out and it looked like this…..

I nearly had heart FAILURE!!!!!! We called Tessa’s Bakery immediately, and they were kind enough to help us, they actually had to re-do the entire cake from scratch, but we got a new flavour inside, instead of the plain chocolate I ordered they had to use ‘rocky-road’ OMGEEEE this was amazing, absolutely in love with this cake. A HUGE thank you to the amazing Tessa’s Bakery for helping us out at last minute, you literally SAVED the party!

‘WHAT’s a PARTY WITHOUT SOME DECOR?’

”MILESTONE BOARD AHEAD”

When looking for a milestone board I went to none other than Pauline from Ma Petite

She was so amazing at brining my idea to life, I literally told her I want a cookie-monster themed milestone board and then she produced this!!!! First attempt no edits needed, just Perfect, the absolute cutest!!! Her service and efficiency is just out of this world and the milestone board was really adorable.

KIERAN’s BIRTHDAY SUITE~

I Love Baa Baa Blacksheep, Adél and Ella make the most darling, adorable little things for kids aged 0-8 years old. Not just clothing, but also linen, accessories, cushions, bean-bags, photo props, toys, gift sets, towels and the list goes on! She made this adorable custom vest and nappy cover for Kieran, didn’t he just look adorable?

“EVERY GIRL NEEDS A TUTU”

I wanted something special for the Cookie monster’s sister, and when searching for something I looked NO FURTHER than Tutu Cute . Lebo is an amazing lady, mom and entrepreneur, friendly, accommodating, efficient and open to my idea’s. My idea was a royal blue tutu and a t-shirt that said “The cookie monsters sister” and boy did she deliver! Just look how beautiful my baby girl looked! Highly recommended!

“PHOTOGRAPHY IS LIFE!”

Lastly, but certainly not least the biggest thank you to our amazing Photographer Talita van Greuning from Inka Photography. Her talent and love for photography speaks for itself. I literally brag about her wherever we go! Thank you for capturing my boys birthday so beautifully! I look forward to you capturing many more moments with us.
